While we celebrate our beautiful Memorial Day weekend let us not forget the everyday angels who look over us and come to our rescue in that dire time of need. For some it is career path and a lifelong choice they have made to get up and go to work each day, but unlike us mere mortals who work at a regular job or business, these angels will put their life on the line day in and day out, all day every day if need be. They are always there and some don’t always get to come home to their families ever again…

And while some make this a career there are those others that do it for free. Taking time out of their daily lives, dropping everything they are doing at a moment’s notice to run off and run into harm’s way… for me, for you for anybody. Our volunteers are yet another breed of angels who dedicate their lives to their communities and like our paid first responders they too sometimes have to give all of themselves to save or protect us.

In my life there have been a few times where I found myself in a horrible situation that I could have not lived through if it were not for the actions of first responders, those fearless, selfless angels were there to look after me in my time of dire need. Please take time to remember them and thank them all.
